Cationic Accelerator:
In 2001, Dr. Kunihiro Ichimura at the Research Institute for Science and Technology, Science University of Tokyo, devised a unique acid amplifier technology based on Lewis acid from photo acid generated by UV. The Lewis acid triggers a chain of UV curing, resulting in much shorter curing time, reducing the use of photo-initiator and more important, curing being made possible on thick film layer.
Accelerator Express (or AC Press, for short) is available in powder form and is soluble in propylene carbonate (PC) and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP). The recommended ratio is 1 part of AC press to 3 parts of NMP at 50-60° C.
AC Press 3 (standard grade): The product starts to react at 150° C. Results have shown that curing is completed in 30-50 seconds, about 1/3 of the conventional cationic photo-initiator system, with film as thick as 1-3 mm.
AC Press 11M (high solubility grade): New grade is available with reactivity starting at 100° C.
